Casually Binge-watching, "The-Bold-type" on Netflix, and then getting bombarded with messages, posts, and wishes from friends and family, this woman's day actually felt a little different.

I grew up having witnessed a variety of different women, each playing a key role in my life. My mother went through a lot but maintained her bubbly personality, my Maasi took care of everything without thinking twice, and both my Nani and Dadi (Maternal and Paternal Grandmothers) never raised their voices because they were never taught to, but also took care of the fact that their daughters should voice out their opinion whenever necessary!

Hence, while growing up I always thought being a woman was simple. It was probably just like any other, you would either end up working as a regular person outside or everyone would depend on you once they were home. I guess that wasn't it after all. Yet that is a big irony because I still think it's simple, but it gets taxy.

The internet at times can be funny, specifically on social media and when it comes to memes. The daily dosage of memes on "understanding women" always cracks me up, With my ideal comeback, "You wouldn't know until you are in our shoes" is now a meme too.

I mean why even fight for this? Partly because it is not something that you need to be fighting over and partly because it is just another vicious cycle. Just in case our menstrual cycles were not enough.

Being a 20-year-old millennial woman of the 21st century, I shouldn't be ranting so much. This is what's drilled into everyone's mind, but there's a fine line drawn by me today, and trying to do that every day.

I am not ranting for myself, I am ranting for the millions of other women out there who still face injustice through patriarchy or even are devoid of basic equality somehow.

The fact that women are underestimated to do anything and everything isn't an issue, trust me, we like the competition but then appreciating every other creature for just existing, now that is a major turnoff.

Okay?

Google's definition of "Feminism" and so many wrong examples have set the world to look at the word in such a misologistic way. As they say, with 7 million people come 14 million perspectives, feminism has also multiple sides. It is so much more than self, it is more about how other women shouldn't feel this way about themselves, ever.

There has been another thing at the back of my mind for quite some time now, that people don't openly talk when it comes to important things, but rather slide it into conversations by emphasizing it as "stuff". Now stuff, what even is stuff? I've noticed this conversation between scores of people, be it friends, or couples, why don't you talk about it? Stuff can be a lot of things, sometimes explainable, sometimes not, it can be about something you want and then something you have but didn't feel the same as you wanted it for.

Now, honestly, this part is where I appreciate this new world for so many surplus things that 50 years back nobody could think of obtaining. Getting menstrual holidays, guys getting you pads, boyfriends understanding your mood swings, being CEOs, Prime Ministers, and single mothers, do I need to continue with the sarcasm, or are we there yet?

When I started typing this blog all I thought was ugh, just one more Women's Day blog, so what? John is absolutely ready to proofread whatever I write or rant so shoo! As I grow, with time I realize the cost of living is pain, the right way of doing things is long and it is okay to be sad after making the right decision.

As a woman, or even as a person there will be moments in your life where you think the whole world is against you, but that one thing makes you happy because you are only going to be there for yourself in the end.

So this woman's day, let's hope that years from now, when we will be somebody's great great great great grandmother, and decades of generation must have passed by, that is when I suppose we will actually accept women for their struggles, we understand men for their mood swings and gays for their love.

Until then ladies and gentlemen, keep doing what you are doing because it is making a difference.

Until Next time,

XOXO, Aarya.

Feminism is nothing but a hype as like reservation to obc,sc,st don't you think now they don't need reservation so why the hell it's not lifting up now .... Bcz whoever the govt. Will lift it up will not get vote similarly.. ya girls are used to be deprived from many things but now I don't think so usually when I go to Street i see that a girl get more respect from people then a boy i don't why but it is and also if a boy didn't done wrong and girl did everyone takes girls side i am telling you remember that in coming year feminist will be a problem in people heads and i think I will…
